I was having some issues with my LS460 transmission. The gear was slipping as I shifted gear. The local Lexus dealer recommended that I replace the transmission. I took the car to "Last Chance Auto Repair." Ron diagnosed the issue and told me that he could replaced the parts that had gone bad, but it will cost me some money and it will take about 2 weeks to order the parts and perform the repair. He gave me an estimate for the entire repair which was $5,500 less than replacing the transmission with a new transmission at the Lexus dealership. He also gave me one year warranty for parts and repair. Ron was very honest and straightforward in his approach. One day before the 2 weeks time-line Ron promised to get the car fix, he called me and told me that he has repaired the car and he was able to save me $1,500 from the initial estimate. This is something that no mechanical or contractor has done for me before. The service, the honesty, the technical knowledge of my vehicle that Ron displayed was truly outstanding. Surely, I will be sending all my friends and family members to Ron in the future. Thanks Ron and your team for getting me back on the road just in time for my sister's wedding.I appreciate your service and honesty.

The nearly famous Last Chance Auto Repair Plainfield, IL, is a family-owned & operated, full-service auto repair center started by Ron (aka automotive enthusiast) in 1978. Ron grew up wrenching out of his parents & friends garages all while racing at the local drag-strips plus on the streets of Chicago Illinois. Some say he must have been born with oil running through his veins.
From racing and working in garages Ron "the founder of Last Chance Auto Repair" went over to Dodge City aka Dodge Trucks in Countryside, where he was quickly promoted to service manager, where under Ron’s guidance the shop won many service excellence awards and he was truly proud of what he became. From Dodge to Hendrickson Trucks, he jumped right into the truck suspension engineering group working in the research and development laboratory. His skills and knowledge mixed with the team at Hendrickson helped to develop many of the heavy-duty & medium-duty truck suspensions currently on the roads today.
Then came Corry, Ron’s 1st hence oldest son which also grew up turning wrenches but instead with his father in the good old family garage. His passion sparked like an iridium firing spark plug. From the garage (under his father’s wing) to the high school automotive shop class to top noch trade school Universal Technical Institute (U.T.I.) where he trained in domestic & foreign, auto, diesel, electrical, technologies (which includes Mercedes, BMW, GM, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, Dodge). From there he worked at Tellabs as an electronic technician, then over to Arrow Trucks as a diesel mechanic, all while turning wrenches with his father.
